About Thanasis Kritsakis

Thanasis Kritsakis (Thessaloniki/1991) is a director, performer and dramaturg. His work is based on the performing arts and, more specifically, on post-dramatic forms of theater and their connections with political theory. He aims to discover new artistic forms that could be produced through philosophical and sociological notions, examining everyday life. He believes that performing arts and the act of spectating could still create new meanings and, therefore, transformations in the social landscape and new ways of living.

He has collaborated and completed his studies at various institutions in Greece and abroad (Stegi, PLETA, Maly Theater, Motzarteum University of Salzburg, Applied Theatre Studies Department Giessen, etc.), both as an independent artist and as a member of artistic groups. He is a graduate of the Theater School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, holds a master's degree in Political Science and Sociology and a post-doctorate from the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. He is currently pursuing his doctorate at the Theater Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the University of the Aegean and is a fellow of the Onassis Air program in the field of dramaturgy.
